Barataria Preserve Visitor Center
Description
The Barataria Preserve Visitor Center, part of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, provides valuable resources for visitors exploring the diverse ecosystems of southern Louisiana. Though the Visitor Center will be closed for reconstruction following damage from Hurricane Ida, visitor services have been temporarily relocated to Lafitte's Barataria Museum and Wetland Trace, where assistance is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Preserve continues to offer access to various trails and canoe launches, allowing visitors to experience the natural beauty and wildlife of the area.
